The Peasant's Revolt Micropub
About This Spot
Stepping into The Peasant's Revolt Micropub invites you into a relaxed, spirited neighborhood haven tucked just off Brentwood’s main flow. The atmosphere hums with easy warmth—a place where familiar faces nod in greeting and newcomers find themselves welcomed with a genuine smile. The pace here is unhurried yet lively, with spaces that encourage conversations both small and boisterous, punctuated by the gentle clinks of glasses and the soft buzz of good company.
This isn’t your typical bar; it’s a thoughtfully curated micropub where the love of drinks takes center stage without overshadowing the simple joys of gathering. The selection is refreshingly broad but well considered—ciders and beers that rotate through taps and bottles with a nod to local and indie producers, alongside a handful of spirited choices that surprise and satisfy in equal measure. There’s a conscious effort to invite exploration, whether you’re sampling a beer flight or asking the staff for their latest personal favorites. Their passion for what they pour is unmistakable, and their recommendations feel like shared secrets among friends.
Adding to the inviting vibe are subtle touches that make everyone feel at home. Dog owners might appreciate the friendliness extended to their four-legged companions, and the shuffleboard table offers a playful contrast to the expert care given to the drinks. The pub comfortably balances the intimacy of a local favorite with the buzz of a place that’s grown alongside its community—always bustling but never rushed, alive yet welcoming in equal measure.
Here, you come for more than just a drink; you stay for the atmosphere, the people, and those unexpected discoveries that come with trying something new in a space that feels like a shared living room. The Peasant’s Revolt isn’t just a stop on a night out—it’s a quietly evolving spot where friendships form and the simple act of raising a glass feels just right.

Have been meaning to visit the Peasant's Revolt for some time and finally popped in for a quick pint. Must say very happy with the experience and an amazing selection of larger, beer and cider in tap and bottle. The staff are super friendly and helpful and will definitely be going back again.

Great, friendly welcome. Nice selection of all drinks, not just beers. Owner is more than happy to indulge a "what would you recommend?" question and is clearly passionate about the drinks on offer! A fantastic addition to our local area and will become a regular spot for us now! For fellow Dog Owners.. absolutely dog friendly for well behaved pooches.. was even offered a bowl of water on arrival which is always fab! See you soon guys!

Fantastic little pub with a large beer variety. If beer isn't your thing, there are also ciders, spirits, and wine. There are six kegs and three cask beers on tap at all times. They're so wonderful that they sell out quickly, so there's always a new one to try. There are also bar snacks available. There's always a good crowd and a welcoming vibe. The staff are extremely pleasant and knowledgeable. Give it a go; I wholeheartedly suggest it.

Decent indie micro (though fairly large) pub near the station. A couple of unusual cask ales from Cumbria when I visited, alongside a large range of craft keg beers. Service was good, although I couldn't get the attention of the bar staff in the evening, despite waiting a while. I'll forgive this as they were busy celebrating their 3rd birthday. Decent.

Quality spot, selection of beers are great and tunes are always decent!! Don’t miss out on trying a flight / bat of beers too - great way to have a taster of the selection! Since the expansion, this place is without doubt one of the best places in Essex to try your new favourite beer. Service is top, staff are awesome and knowledgeable and they’ve got one of the few shuffleboard tables in the area! Regular music nights and other events - this place isn’t just a pub; it’s a a community.

Possibly the best toastie I’ve ever had in my life!! Veggie samosa toastie and a cup of tea/ coffee for £5 at lunch, just perfect. Sweet little establishment with an amazing selection of beers (although I didn’t try any). 100% recommend for a quick and simple lunch. Great service too, the lady who served me was really friendly and very fast and accommodating

This is a great pub. Wonderful selection of real ales. As I could see very family friendly, welcoming to people of all ages. We had great fun playing the shuffle table in the middle. A challenging pub game that our party of four enjoyed while sinking a few pints. I recommend
